T Nagar, or Thyagaraya Nagar, is one of Chennai's best-known central neighbourhoods and its busiest shopping district. Pondy Bazaar and Ranganathan Street draw crowds daily, while the quieter inner streets remain residential.

Mambalam suburban rail station, Anna Salai and nearby metro stations link T Nagar to the rest of the city. Nandanam, Teynampet, Kodambakkam and West Mambalam surround it, and good schools and hospitals are close at hand.
