Shilphata is a junction area in Thane district where Kalyan–Shilphata Road meets the route towards Mumbra and Navi Mumbai. Daighar, Dombivli and the Palava township are nearby, and the belt has grown into a major residential corridor.

Kalyan–Shilphata Road connects the area to Kalyan and Dombivli, while the road towards Mahape links it to Navi Mumbai's business hubs. Metro Line 12 between Kalyan and Taloja is planned along the corridor, which should ease commutes once built.
