MTP Road, or Mettupalayam Road, runs north from central Coimbatore towards Mettupalayam and the Nilgiris. It passes Saibaba Colony, Kavundampalayam, Thudiyalur and Periyanaickenpalayam, and is one of the city's main residential corridors.
The road links residents quickly to Gandhipuram, the railway junction and the bus stands. Schools, colleges and hospitals line the stretch, and the cooler foothill climate to the north adds to its appeal.
